The following ministries exist to help all members in their walk with the Lord:
Men’s Fellowship Breakfast and Bible Study
One Saturday a month, between September and April, the men gather at the church for a time of eating, fellowship, prayer, and Bible study. All men are invited to come and share in an uplifting and encouraging meeting. Breakfast is provided by the men who have volunteered to alternate each month.
Vacation Bible School
Each summer, with the help of a director and the assistance of several volunteers, a week long Vacation Bible School (VBS) is held for the youth of the church as well as those of the surrounding communities. It is normally conducted in the evenings with a closing program on Friday. While classes are offered for children in Kindergarten through High School, it also serves as a great way for adults to get involved in service, either by participating in the teaching, music, crafts, recreation, and snack times during the week itself, or volunteering to help in the follow-up that takes place during the week following VBS.
Service Teams
One way that members are encouraged to be actively involved in ministry is through volunteering to be a part of a service team. Presently there are three such teams that meet to discuss and make plans for the various ministries here at Meadow View. The Worship and Music Team works to coordinate all that takes place during our regular and special service times and is overseen by Richard Watson, who is one of the elders of the church. The Evangelism and Outreach Team works to provide various opportunities for members to be involved in the lives of those outside the church who need to be touched by the love and message of Jesus. It is overseen by Wayne Eddleblute, who is also an elder of the church. The third team is the Mission Committee Team, whose duties are described under the heading “Our Missions”.
Small Group Ministry
Beginning in the spring of 2005, the leadership at Meadow View decided to introduce a small group ministry for the following reasons: 1) A small group will help meet individual needs. It will enable you to better know one another’s needs, know what to pray about, how to be an encouragement and what’s going on in each other’s lives. It helps to maintain a closeness that is difficult to attain in a larger group setting. 2) A small group will help build spiritual strength. Participants are real with each other, can do great things together, can get closer to God together, and can grow stronger together. 3) A small group will help you feel like a part of God’s family. It will provide a certain environment where self expression is encouraged and people can belong; where everybody knows your name. It’s the place where you can share something about yourself that you never thought you would ever share.
